Aurora is a compilation album past American stone ring Breaking Benjamin, released on Jan 24, 2020, by Hollywood Records. The album is a drove of reimagined versions of previously released songs, plus one new song.[3]

Background [edit]

Details of the album were first reported in Oct 2019, that it would incorporate reworked versions of some of the band's biggest hits over the years.[4] Information technology also includes one new song, the lead single "Far Away" featuring Scooter Ward from Cold, which was released on December six, 2019.[5] [half dozen] The anthology also includes guest appearances from Lacey Sturm (formerly of Flyleaf), Michael Barnes of Ruby, Adam Gontier of Saint Asonia (formerly of Iii Days Grace), and Spencer Chamberlain of Underoath.[3]

Composition [edit]

Aurora makes apply of audio-visual guitars,[3] [7] orchestral strings and piano,[six] [viii] [9] resulting in an acoustic rock and symphonic stone sound. The album is also described as post-grunge[10] and retains difficult rock elements on "And then Cold", "Failure", "Red Cold River", "Tourniquet", "Never Again", and "Torn in Two".[7] [eight] [ix]

"Dance with the Devil" is noted for "sounding more folky",[9] and "Tourniquet" retains Benjamin Burnley's "aggressive growl" during the chorus.[6]
